Pima Air Museum

Jim Retzer and I took a day trip to Pima Air Museum. There were planes, jets, and helicopters on display. After that we took a tour of the Bone Yard. This is where the aircraft are stored after being taken from active duty. The aircraft are sort of shrink wrapped with a special wrap that protects the plane from the elements. The planes can then be used for parts or if needed can be put back into service. Jim is quite an authority on some of the planes. While looking at one of the helicopters he looked at the identification numbers (Kind of like a license plate) and just about lost it. As it turns out he actually served on the helicopter we were looking at. Not positive but I think it was the nostalgia thing and not the fact that the helicopter was in a museum that got to him. We really had a fun and relaxing day.
